OUR MISSION

The Bitter Root Humane Association is organized in an effort to prevent cruelty to animals, to promote animal population control, and to educate the public on the needs, care, and understanding of animals.

Located in Hamilton, Montana and serving Ravalli County, we are a nonprofit corporation under the Montana Nonprofit Corporation Act and are recognized as tax exempt under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

Our policy is to provide humane care and treatmentto all animals needing protection in our service area. To this end, we operate a shelter for stray, homeless, and neglected animals. We also seek to unite lost animals with owners and place homeless animals with owners willing to commit to the animal for its entire life.
