Rabbits Available for Adoptionrabbit

The BRHA has its own warren of rabbits ready for adoption. People friendly and cute as buttons, these amiable creatures make great family pets. They are accustomed to outdoor living in a hutch or can be kept in the house.

Many people don't know this, but rabbits can be litter box trained and adapted to free-range living inside, just like a dog or cat. In fact, our floppy-eared bunny acts more like a friendly dog than a rabbit and looks like something straight out of a Beatrice Potter book. Simply irresistible!

To find out more about our available rabbits, contact the shelter.

Updates on Dani!

Dani has found her forever home! Read more...

Thank you to everyone who made this possible especially Judy and Christina who took such good care of Dani during her recovery.

Dani is a beautiful husky mix who came to the shelter as a stray. She is a smart, affectionate girl who gets along with everyone.

Unfortunately, she had a crooked leg. No one wanted to adopt her because of it.

In June of 2009, a group of volunteers banded together and approached the shelter about getting Dani's leg fixed. We had her leg evaluated, and yes, it could be repaired with surgery. The only bad news was that it would cost $2,500. The shelter contributed part of the money, but the rest had to be raised.

The volunteers sprang into action. Through posters, public and personal solicitations, and our website, the money for Dani's surgery was raised!

On August 16, 2009, shelter operations manager, Vicki Dawson drove Dani to a veterinary orthopedic specialist in Bozeman, Montana. Her surgery was on August 17, 2009. By all accounts the surgery went well, and Dani is on the mend. Long-time shelter volunteer and dog fosterer Judy Paul will be caring for Dani during her recuperation.

THANK YOU everyone who helped with this endeavor.

We are fortunate to live in such a humane and compassionate community!
