Duke is a 3-4-year-old Mountain Cur/Pitbull Terrier who is a handsome young pup in need of a good forever home with a family that loves him. Meet Thane, a 6-year-old Pit Bull Terrier mix whose owner couldn't take care of him anymore. He loves people of all ages, adores car rides, fetch, and hikes. How is this great dog still here?!? Thane is a very sweet boy and does best when he has a chance to relax in a new place. Give this awesome dog a chance! However, please note that Thane has shown aggression with a high prey drive towards small animals such as cats and some livestock, so he should be the only pet in the household. Sheena is a 2-year-old female lab cross who is sweet and spunky. She loves to play and adores kids. She's an excitable girl who does well with submissive and younger dogs. She's very intelligent and teachable, and has a remarkable ability to learn quickly. She loves tug-of-war and is a hugger, but can paw at kids. She could use some more manners, but she is unendingly loyal, loving, and sweet. She was found abandoned in a national forest and had nearly starved to death. However, they couldn't keep her because she didn't get along with the dogs they already had, so she ended up at the shelter. Riley is an amazing dog who loves nothing more than being around people. Montana
ADOPTION PENDING!!! Montana is a sweet, easy-going older adult dog who is about 9 years old and is a Boxer/Rottweiler mix. She loves walks but loves cuddles even more. Montana is a very relaxed dog who rarely barks and is very comfortable at home. She is friendly to all people but can be a little picky about her dog friends. Big news! Henry is searching for his new family! This adorable 1-year-old German Shepherd/Australian Shepherd mix is a playful pup who loves to run around and have fun with other dogs. He's got tons of energy and loves to play, but he's also a great hiking and swimming buddy. Cats are an unknown, but this sweet boy gets along with most creatures he meets. Henry doesn't bark much, but he's always ready for an adventure. He's looking for a loving home where he can share all his energy and affection.
Pepper
Pepper came in as a stray with her kittens back in August. She is a young, domestic shorthair black kitty that doesn’t mind being pet, but she likes slow interactions! In her past life, she was definitely part panther. Pepper loves to find the highest places she can in the cat room, and does not mind showing off her acrobatic skills as she jumps gracefully from perch to perch. If you are looking for a miniature queen of the jungle, and have lots of high places to perch, Pepper is the cat for you!
Jade
Jade is a young domestic short hair tabby. She and Emerald came in together and we’d love to find them homes together if possible (think BUDDY program!). Jade is the more mellow of the two, and while she enjoys attention, she is still a little skittish. If you can find it in your heart to adopt them both, we would be forever grateful!
Donzel
Donzel is an adult black and white short hair. He’s been avoiding the paparazzi since he arrived at BRHA as a stray from Arlee. In his past life, he must have been super famous with a mug as handsome as his. Now, he just wants the quiet life and to be left alone. Donzel might be happiest in a barn, away from people, where he has other critters to keep him company.
Max
Max is a 3 year old Hanging Tree Aussie. He is young with tons of energy! Max gets along well with kids, dogs, and cats, but he does not do well with livestock.He would be happiest in a spacious place with a large backyard with tons of acreage for him to run on. If you are very active and need a dog to match your style, Max is your boy!
Lita
Meet Lita, a young adult domestic short hair who came in as a stray and was a bit feral when she first arrived. It has taken a lot of time, and she has calmed down a lot, but she is still quite shy. It can take a couple of visits to get to know Lita, but it is definitely worthwhile. She's a pretty girl who might be happiest as a barn kitty. If you're looking for a cat who will keep your barn or property free of rodents and other pests, Lita is the perfect match for you.
Amos
Amos is a young grey tabby that is extremely timid. He came in as a stray from Darby and is slowly coming around. He prefers the deep, dark nooks and crannies of the cat trees and will allow you to pet on him if you’re lucky enough to find him. He might best happiest as a very posh barn cat on a high end farm. Amos would be happy to take care of your rodent problem for room and board!
Liberty
Liberty is a young, domestic long hair, black and white kitty. She can be a bit timid when meeting new people, but if you can find her and start petting on her, she will come right out and show you all of her favorite hidey holes in the catroom. Liberty was surrendered because of landlord issues and her previous owners let us know that she is good with cats, tolerates dogs (who doesn’t), and is OK with older kids. In her previous life, she was an indoor/outdoor kitty with free range! Liberty loves to cuddle and would love to find someone that needs a cuddle-cat!
Callie
Callie is a 2 year old dilute tortie. This poor kitty has had a tough life living on the rough streets of Hamilton. Don’t let that cute face fool you, Callie is tough as nails, but her heart is big and she does enjoy slow, gentle petting. Like some of our other kitties, she feels safest in the confines of the cattrees where she can watch everything else going on in the catroom. The tortitude is strong with this one! Part of her adoption fee has been paid by a good Samaritan!
Bowie
Meet Bowie, a pit mix who came to us after being found as a stray, so we don't have very much information on him. However, we do know that he does well with other dogs! If you're looking for a friendly and sociable dog who will get along well with other pets, Bowie is the perfect match for you.
Jake
Jake is a 12 year old husky that was returned to us because he does not do well with other animals. Jake does well around kids but really needs a home with no other animals as his prey drive is pretty high. Jake is housebroken, isn’t an escape artist, knows sit and paw, does well in the car, doesn’t have separation issues or resource guarding issues. Overall, Jake is a really good boy... his prey drive is just way too high to be able to be around other animals. Jake's ADOPTION FEES have been PAID by Groom on the Vroom!!!
Smeegle
Smeegle is a 4 year old medium hair brown tabby. He looks like he can be a little rough around the edges, but he is actually a very sweet kitty. Smeegle was brought in as part of a hoarding case and he is slowly adapting to life in the cat rooms. He likes to hide, but will warm up to you if you approach him slowly and calmly (nothing trixy!). Without his precious, Smeegle can’t do a disappearing act on you, but he can steal your heart. He would love nothing more than to sit and do riddles with you on the couch, or take a long walk up the mountain!
Julian
Julian is a young long hair grey tabby. He came in with his sister, Maggie, because his previous owner had too many pets. Julian is the more skittish and shy of the two. He feels safest when he is nice and close to Maggie. Loud noises and fast movements are a bit scary for him and he needs calm, slow introductions. Come help us socialize these two kitties! Spend some time with them in our meet and greet room! Julian would love to find a home with his sister Maggie on our BUDDY PROGRAM!!!!
Maggie
Maggie is a young long hair brown tabby. She was brought in with a few other kitties because her previous owner had too many pets. Maggie feels safest with her brother, Julian, in our meet and greet room where it is nice and quiet. She enjoys being around the other 2 kitties that are calm and sweet. It has taken a little while, but Maggie is slowly coming out of her shell and enjoy calm, gentle pets. She would love to find a home with her brother that is quiet and gives her the time she needs to adjust.
Dr Dre
Dre is a 3 year old domestic medium hair. It is hard to believe this guy came in as a stray with how friendly and personable he is! He loves attention and loves to show off for new people. If he is inside a cat tree, it is very easy to coax him out for some petting. Dre would love to find an active house where he gets lots of attention and maybe even access outdoors. Moosey
Meet Moosey, a 3-year-old Shepherd mix who does well with other dogs and kids, but cannot be around small animals like cats or chickens. Moosey needs a home with a tall fenced yard as she is a bit of an escape artist. If you're looking for a friendly and energetic dog who will keep you on your toes, Moosey is the perfect match for you.
Nelli
Nelli is a 6 month old Heeler/ Pitbull mix. She is super timid when meeting new people, but warms up quickly once she knows she can trust you. She is great with kids and cats, but selective with other dogs. Nelli is extremely smart and knows some basic commands! She would love a quiet home with active owners that can help her get all of her energy out each day.
Mo
Mo is a 3 year old domestic short hair black kitty. His previous owner is moving to Australia and was unable to take this great kitty. Mo loves to play hide and seek! He is good with some dogs, and good with kids. While he is a little shy, he loves cuddling with his people on the couch for 20 or 30 minutes at a time. Mo’s ADOPTION FEES ARE PAID!!!
Minzie
Minzie is about 3 years old and is a domestic medium hair brown tabby with a docked tail. She came in as part of a hoarding case and we have been nursing her back to health. She likes to hide, but if you are patient and meet her on her terms, she will come out for you and purr up a storm. She’d love to find a calm, quiet home allowing her the time she needs to adjust.
Tachi
Tachi is a 6 year old, block, domestic short hair. She can be a bit shy and nervous when meeting new people. Her favorite places are in the deepest, darkest recesses of the cat trees. If you are lucky enough to find her, give her calm, gentle pets and she will warm right up to you! Tachi loves petting and you’ll know she is warming up to you when her tongue sticks out!
Koda
Koda is a 3 yr old Pitbull/boxer cross. She was a stray when she first came into the shelter. Koda is super sweet, and loves to play with other dogs, and does well with kids, but does not do well with cats! This gorgeous gal adores hikes, adventures, and the snow! Will give you kisses! Tana
Tana is a 1 year old Blood Hound/Anatolian/Great Pyrenese mix. All of this just means there is a lot of her to love! She great with other dogs, cats and kids! She knows some basic commands and would love more training. This pretty gal is quite the escape artist! Tana is extremely sweet and would love to meet you next time you visit the shelter! Blackstone
Blackstone is a 6 year old, black, domestic short hair. She is extremely shy and loves to hide in the cat trees and boxes throughout the cat rooms. This poor girl will take a while to warm up to someone new and would love to find a calm, quiet home. She is relatively new to the cat room, and things can be stressful at first for new kitties. Izzy
Izzy is 6 and a half year old dilute torti with short hair. This pretty girl likes attention, but on her own terms. Her previous owner was moving and could not take her with. Izzy is good with cats and kids but we are not sure about dogs. She loves playing with shoe strings and would love to find an owner that would play with her and let her snuggle in bed at night. Izzy’s ADOPTION FEES are PAID!!!
Panda
Panda is a young black and white domestic short hair with gorgeous markings! She was picked up and brought in as neighborhood stray. Panda is extremely sweet and enjoys soft petting. She seems good with the other cats but she is NOT a fan of dogs at all! This little kitty would love an indoor/outdoor lifestyle, but would prefer to have a house to call her own and not to be the neighborhood stray anymore.
Quartz
Quartz is a 7 year old domestic short hair tuxedo kitty. He is a big kitty, and there is definitely lots to love with Quartz. This cat is EXTREMELY friendly and will beg you for attention as soon as you get into the cat room. If he doesn’t feel like you are giving him enough of the attention he craves, he will chirp at you to let you know. What a cool cat this is! Even better, his ADOPTION FEES are PAID!!!
Ray
Ray is a 1 year old domestic short hair brown tabby with tons of white. The eyes on this kitty are super pretty! He can be a little persnickety at times. Sometimes he wants attention, but at other times, not so much (typical cat). His previous owner became ill and could no longer take care of him. Ray is good with dogs but we are not sure about cats or kids. Ray would like a home where he has access to the outdoors so he can be by himself and enjoy the sunbeams when he wants to get away.
Sailor
Sailor is a 7 year old, domestic shorthair, grey kittie with some white on his chest. This poor guy has had a really rough time lately. He came in as part of a hoarding case in Stevensville and had a broken front leg when he first came in. It has taken some time, but his leg has healed up well! Sailor has no problem jumping on up high cat beds and perches, he’ll go wherever he has to to reach the softest blankets. His pupils are slightly different sizes, but it does not affect his balance or sight. Sailor is one tough kitty and is extremely friendly despite his rough past. We would love to find him a calm, quiet home where he can snooze his days away.
Snowdrop
Adoption pending!! Snowdrop is an 8 year old brown tabby. She is quite shy at first but will warm up to you if you sit down and take time to get to know her. Her previous owner was unable to take care of her any longer. Snowdrop is gentle, quiet, and loves to sleep. She loves playing with toys in a dry tub and would be happiest as an indoor/outdoor kitty (she loooooves to hunt!). This sweet gal will need a little bit to warm up to you, but we promise she is worth it!
Toby
Toby is a young orange and white tabby. Life on the streets as a stray can be rough, and now that Toby has found his way to BRHA, he is content to snooze. A LOT! When he is awake, he loves people and thrives on attention. Toby would be happiest in an active house where he gets access to the outside world! He would love a home where he can be calm and confident that his microchip info will help him return home if he ever gets picked up as a stray again!
Violet
Violet is a 1 year old Russian Blue with a noticeably clipped right ear. She loves attention and will come right to greet new visitors, but likes her space away from the other cats. Once she trusts you, you can even coax her down off of her high posts. While she loves attention, sudden noises or new people in the cat rooms, startle her a bit. Violet would make a great, loyal kitty that would prefer to sleep all day while her people are at work or school and play when they get home.
Jezebel
Jezebel is a 4.5 year old domestic shorthair. She can be a little timid when meeting new people and loves to hide in the safe confines of her cat tree. Peter Parker and Jezebel are best buds, but he is a little rambunctious for her. This gorgeous gal likes attention but is a little uncertain at first. When she was surrendered, she came in with her sister Tachi. Jezebel would love to find a calm, quiet home that gives her the time and space needed for her to fully come out of her shell.
Salvador the Drooler
Salvador is 9 month old brown tabby that loves any and all attention. So much so, that his nickname is Drip because he starts to drool! He is so outgoing that he might even be on a slumber or adopted before this even gets posted. Salvador was picked up as a stray in Hamilton because he kept “visiting” the family through the doggie door. He is an active cat, with a newly minted microchip to help him find his way back to his next furever home!
Queen
Why is our Queen so sad? Here's her story and we're hoping all our great followers will help us find her forever home. Since coming to us, Queen has met her perfect match four times...and had several slumbers. Each time it seems she is returned stemming from her being an escape artist and having a very high prey drive. Here's what Queen's ideal home would be: NO SMALL CRITTERS or CATS and a very secure locked fenced in yard. Here's what you get in return: a very smart, incredibly sweet all around wonderful family dog who is good around kids and most other dogs, has great recall and that stays close to her humans....this gal is loved by the staff & volunteers and we are determined that Queen's next home is her forever home. Tucker is 2 year old Great Pyrenese Mix. He is a goofy big boy with lots of personality! He is selective with other dogs and would prefer them to be just as big as him. This big fella does not do well with cats or other small critters. Tucker is a young dog with tons of energy and needs a large fenced yard or lots of open space to run. He would be happiest in an active house with lots of love.
Magnolia
Magnolia "Maggie" is a 4 year old German Shepherd. She is a super sweet girl that can be a little shy at first when meeting new people. Maggie is great with kids, dogs, cats and even livestock! This amazing dog even has some basic training! With a slow, calm introduction, Maggie will be your new best friend!
Kota
Kota is a 2 year old Siberian Husky mix. She is a little bundle of energy! This gorgeous gal is great with other dogs and kids, but is not good around cats or livestock! Kota has has a rough time and has some trauma that she still needs to work through, so we'd love to find her a home that ives her the time and patience needed to be the best dog she can!
Clara
Clara is a 2 and a half year old Lab mix. This poor dog is very sensitive and needs lots of love. She is incredibly sweet and just needs time and patience to adjust. She is selective around other dogs and also cats, but loves kids. Clara would do well in a calm house with lots of structure for her to follow and learn.
